I did not initially think I could afford a Kogan home. However, after looking at their range of design services and our mutual understanding of my vision for a lake-front mountain home, I couldn’t afford not to! As with every building project, there were some surprises and challenges. Nonetheless, the end result actually exceeded my expectations. My 2000 square foot home has a “big feel” to it and the house came in with a great appraisal because of the plan, design, and the quality of its features.

I’d like to say that I’m impressed with all your employees. We have spent considerable time with Kjersten on the decorating and made quite a bit of progress. She has to have lots of patience to deal with this all the time.
Scott, Bruce & Don have been great to work with and enjoyed watching the initial progress the last couple of weeks. Always enjoy our visits to Durango but this makes it even more fun!

The framed house looks so great; fabulous, really. As you drive by you can see “through”–see blue sky through the dining area windows and the passage way. The varying roof lines with their fascinating angles intrigue yet clarify the different spaces. The entrance is sheltered yet welcoming. Anyone who’s seen it thinks it’s stunning!

After sitting at the bar at Steamworks and celebrating the plans for the house today, I had to write and say how thrilled Donny and I are that you all are our “Dream Team.”
We sat at the bar next to a guy who we overheard saying was some sort of house contractor and thanked our lucky stars that that was not our guy!!! Not sure what he was really talking about, but we knew that we were blessed with all of you.
Honestly after today’s meeting, tears come to my eyes when I think about the house Donny and I have said we were going to build is actually being talked about. Alix, I think we are kindred spirits, and you talk my walk. We could not be more excited with the changes that you have made, that are seriously the feel and flow that was needed for this house. It is beyond, beyond, and is the house that I have dreamed about for 37 years. Thank you for being a part of that dream. Will you marry us???

This was the first home we had ever built and we had heard all the typical horror stories about the construction process from friends and family that had built before. With Kogan Builders, the process could not have been any smoother. Since we lived out of state, communication was going to be critical and we found from the first call to Kogan that our concerns about communication could be put to rest. We had the best project manager anyone could ask for. He answered all of our questions, kept us constantly updated with photos and status emails and was proactive in looking for ways that we could save money without affecting the integrity of the project. When we first purchased our log home, we knew it would require updating, and that Kogan Builders would be a good choice to design and implement the necessary work. Knowing you have experience with many home styles from log and traditional timber frame, to southwest and contemporary, we were confident you could accomplish melding our tastes with your designs in this home. When completed, we ended up with exactly what we wanted; contemporary log.
We enjoyed the design process and working with you and your team of craftsmen to enlarge and enhance the living space. Everything you did from lightening the logs, adding the master bath, updating the kitchen, creating closets, and re-doing the staircase from log to timber and metal helped us achieve the look we wanted. Your ideas for our fireplace in the living room made for a beautiful focal point.
The detached garage is just what we asked for, and even though it is “new construction”, it blends perfectly with the log home.
We thank you for the great work and appreciate our partnership with Kogan Builders in making our dreams become a reality. Additionally, it has been more than a year since completion of the project, yet you and your team still answer questions and perform minor tweaks as required. This is greatly appreciated.
