We provide extensive architectural services that include a building site analysis, floor plans, hand rendered elevations, and complete construction documents (blueprints). We also have a full time design coordinator who works hand in hand with the client prior to and throughout the building process to select interior and exterior finishes that fit their design preferences as well as their budget.

Already have a designer/architect or building plans?

Please keep in mind that we frequently work with outside designers and architects and are able to build from existing house plans. We will happily take a look at your plans at no cost or obligation.

The Design-Build Process:

Site Evaluation:

Don’t miss the views! The site evaluation addresses building placement, solar gain, view optimization and infrastructure. This important piece of the planning process allows efficient placement of the design on the building site, creating a solid foundation for a successful project. Schematic Design:

Where the fun begins!  Kogan Builders identifies each clients’ individual needs through an interview process. Architects and designers on our team then develop floor plans and exterior elevations with input from our clients. Once we get the desired layout and floor plan, we present an entire Schematic Design package to our client.

Construction Documents and Engineering:

As part of our design service, we then provide a complete set of construction documents (blueprints) designed by a licensed structural engineer. You are then ready to build!

Interior and Exterior Design:

In this next phase we work closely with each client to select interior and exterior finishes. With the assistance of KBI’s Design Coordinator, clients select beautiful and unique finishes that fit their style and budget.  We also design custom stone fireplaces, stair railings, range hoods, entry and interior doors, tile work (counter tops and back splashes), kitchen layouts, interior timber detailing, built-in cabinets and custom furniture. A preliminary sketch is created for our clients and trade contractors to use as a reference point for the finished product. In working with the trade contractors our Design Coordinator insures that each custom feature is built to the exact specifications of the client.

Construction:

Throughout construction, a Project Manager is assigned to each client to assure constant communication throughout the entire project. This provides our out of town clients with a worry-free construction process. Our impeccable craftsmanship and green building techniques create award winning homes and enduring relationships.
