I did not initially think I could afford a Kogan home.  However, after looking at their range of design services and our mutual understanding of my vision for a lake-front mountain home, I couldn’t afford not to!  As with every building project, there were some surprises and challenges.  Nonetheless, the end result actually exceeded my expectations.  My 2000 square foot home has a “big feel” to it and the house came in with a great appraisal because of the plan, design, and the quality of its features.

This was the first home we had ever built and we had heard all the typical horror stories about the construction process from friends and family that had built before. With Kogan Builders, the process could not have been any smoother. Since we lived out of state, communication was going to be critical and we found from the first call to Kogan that our concerns about communication could be put to rest.  We had the best project manager anyone could ask for. He answered all of our questions, kept us constantly updated with photos and status emails and was proactive in looking for ways that we could save money without affecting the integrity of the project. Since we lived out of state during the process, communication was particularly important. Alix’s team was in constant communication by phone, digital photo and email, and they were always immediately responsive to any questions or concerns.

Our log home project was our first and only experience building a home. We knew we needed a builder who would do more than just say, “Tell me what you want and I can do that.” Alix helped us develop our vision for our dream home on a challenging site and guided us every step of the way.

Our biggest challenge, being from out of town, was finding someone we could trust with our investment. Kogan Builders has a great reputation within the community as a custom builder with high standards for quality. After meeting Alix Kogan, there was no doubt in our minds he was the builder for us. Throughout the project, Alix and his crew never settled for second best, even when it wasn’t evident to us. Building a home can be stressful, but Kogan Builders took the worry out of our project.
