This is where the fun starts; when the bare bones of the home are encased and the structure begins to take on a truly artful form. Get a sneak peek of Kogan Builders’ 2014 Parade of Homes Entry, Trapper’s Ledge:
This home is perched on a beautiful lot in Trapper’s Crossing, overlooking the stunning Lake Nighthorse in Durango. As one of our most exciting design-build projects, this home has certainly presented its design challenges. Kogan’s skilled design team collaborated with home owners to create a home that will be complex and appealing in structure with clean, contemporary–yet exotic–interior finishes.
Notice the tower in the corner; it’s circular shape helps to balance the otherwise straight lines of the home’s design.
This “detached garage” (below) is so much more than that; it will be a truly custom, auto-enthusiast’s, MAN CAVE. Complete with a hydraulic car lift and collection of antique automobiles, it’s a safe bet where you can find one of the homeowners spending most of his time.
Views like this will never get old!
Remember this lovely architectural piece? This cantilevered window will “hang” over the side of the cliff, offering spectacular mountain and lake views. This great room will serve as a one-of-a kind space for entertaining guests as well as a retreat for the semi-retired homeowners.
Lots of windows– including the clerestory windows you see underneath the top gabled roof– will flood this 5,000 sq ft home with tons of that southwest Colorado sunshine.
This architectural masterpiece will be one you can’t even think about missing in this year’s Parade of Homes. Stay tuned for further updates and info on this home and our other soon-to-be-announced entry.
